Nestled against the edge of the natural forest a
t the foot of the mountain and The Bonnet Pass, overlooking Graskop town and the spectacular eastern Mpumalanga escarpment, (see main image above with arrow indicating the location) this quaint secluded single self-catering chalet
offers cozy accommodation for 2 to 4 persons.

With less than 4 hours’ drive from Johannesburg, it is located 5km from Graskop, 10km from Pilgrim’s Rest and 24km from Sabie.
It is within easy travelling distance of Nelspruit (Mbombela), the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, the Kruger National Park (56 km to Phabeni Gate), Mozambique and Swaziland.

Being in close proximity of many well known scenic and historic attractions of the area, the establishment in its tranquil setting is ideal for a relaxing and refreshing break-away from a busy schedule.

The chalet
(constructed in an open plan configuration - room / kitchenette) with its thatch and tile roof has a rustic ambiance and accommodates 2 on a double bed and another 2 on single mattresses that are placed on a small loft floor / attic room above the main room (accessible by a ladder - ideal and great fun for kids).
The bathroom has a bath, basin and toilet.

The kitchenette is equipped with most of the basic cooking facilities and utensils, crockery, cutlery, a mini-fridge, a 2-plate mini-stove and microwave oven.  A portable grid outside is also available for a "braai" / barbecue.

Soap, toilet paper, linen, pillows, blankets and towels are provided.

Views of the open-plan room
(pictured above) with kitchenette and bathroom (pictures on the left).

A
loft room (pictured below) is accessible by a small ladder that hooks onto the wooden beam.

From the veranda or from the sprawling lawn outside you can watch breathtaking sunrises over the Mpumalanga escarpment (with a view towards God’s Window) or enjoy a cozy fire and evening barbecue while the sun sets behind the western mountain ridge.

For the energetic, a hike up the mountain to the west (from where you can see "forever") could be just what is required to relieve some stress and tension.

The chalet is centrally located in an area that hosts an abundance of outdoor activities like horse-riding, mountain bike-, quad-bike- and 4x4 trails, hiking, fishing, bird watching and golf.

The myriad of winding roads and breathtaking scenery makes the area a very well known motor-cyclist's paradise!

Should you decide to stay in bed during the odd misty/foggy day, a DVD player with monitor and a variety of movie titles are available which you can snooze through.

Cleaning Services.  Self catering guests are as a norm responsible for cleaning and tidying the chalet during their stay, but daily cleaning services can be arranged at a minimal additional cost.

How to get here:

Follow your favourite route to either Pilgrim’s Rest, Graskop or Sabie. From the road inter-section at “The Bonnet”  between the 3 towns (see map), the entrance to the establishment is situated approximately 150m on the left (mountain side), on the Graskop road (R532).  Look out for our sign boards and the short white painted poles that mark the entrance on either side. From the entrance, drive up the gravel road for about 100 meters and look out to find the driveway on the left leading to the chalet.  (See pictures of the access road leading to the chalet on our pictures page - or follow the link on the left of this page)
