Wild Forest Inn

Self Catering Accommodation

Graskop  -  Mpumalanga  -  South Africa

Wild Forest Inn  (location indicated with the arrow in the image above)  is nestled against the edge of the natural forest at the foot of Bonnet Pass, overlooking Graskop town and the spectacular eastern Mpumalanga Escarpment.

With less than 5 hours’ drive from Johannesburg, located 5km from Graskop, 10km from Pilgrim’s Rest and 24km from Sabie, Wild Forest Inn is situated within easy travelling distance of Nelspruit (Mbombela), the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, Kruger National Park (56 km to Phabeni Gate), Mozambique and Swaziland.

Being in close proximity of many well known scenic natural and historic attractions of the area, the establishment in its tranquil setting is ideal for a relaxing and refreshing break-away from a busy schedule or as a stop-over for a night or two to discover the Panorama Region.

A quaint secluded single self-catering cottage, amongst trees on the edge of a large sprawling lawn, provides cozy accommodation for up to 4 guests.

The thatch and tile roof cottage with a rustic ambiance is built in an open plan style (with room, kitchenette, closed bathroom and attic room) with small veranda outside covered by the extended roof.

The cottage has one double bed in the main room below and two single mattresses that are located on the floor of the small attic (loft room floor).  The attic room (accessible by a steel ladder) is situated above the kitchenette and bathroom and is ideal and great fun for kids.

The closed bathroom has a bath with shower, basin and toilet.

The kitchenette is equipped with most of the basic cooking facilities and utensils required for self-catering (crockery, cutlery, a mini-fridge, a 2-plate mini-stove and microwave oven).
A portable grid is available outside for a "braai" / barbecue.

Linen, pillows, blankets, towels and toilet paper is provided.

From the veranda or from the lawn outside, with a view towards God’s Window, guests can watch breathtaking sunrises over the Mpumalanga escarpment or enjoy a cozy braai/barbecue fire while the sun sets behind the mountain ridge.

For the energetic, a hike up the mountain top to the west (from where one can almost see "forever") could be just what is required to relieve some stress and tension.

The establishment is centrally located to the Panorama Route and region of Mpumalanga that hosts an abundance of outdoor activities and adventures.  The myriad of winding roads and breathtaking scenery makes the area a well known motor-cyclist's paradise !

Should you decide to stay in bed during a misty/foggy day, a satellite TV (with OpenviewHD TV and radio channels) is available for guests' "stay indoors" entertainment.

Cleaning Services.  As a norm, self catering guests are responsible for cleaning and tidying of the cottage during their stay, but daily cleaning services can be arranged at a minimal additional cost.
